Sometimes in the course of our life and development we encounter road-blocks, periods when old ways of functioning don’t seem to work anymore, making us feel stuck, powerless, or confused. When those periods come, it’s hard to imagine that we actually hold the answers to our problems. Coaching can help because it is a form of learning, where one person (a coach) supports another (coachee or a client) to make some progress. Progress here might be to reach a goal, solve problems, or experience learning and change.

With help from a coach, the client can create a better focus and attention on their own circumstances, experiencing greater awareness and understanding. In addition, the client can also gain fresh ways to resolve issues, produce better results and achieve their goals more effectively.

Coaching can help clients to:

  • improve their sense of direction and focus;
  • gain knowledge around a specific topic (e.g., managing people, relationships);
  • improve performance in an area (e.g., work, health, finances etc.);
  • increase knowledge of self/self-awareness;
  • increase motivation or sense of personal engagement;
  • increase resourcefulness, resilience, or flexibility.
